Ctirad was the son of a Czechoslovakian General. He left his home
country after the war when the communists took over. One spelling that
has been shown is Chirad but documents from New Zealand clearly show
Ctirad.

Lived at Oxford House, Turnford just before marriage.

Had a house built - 7 Jones Road, Goffs Oak, Herts.

Died at 'Charmayne' Howe Chase, Halstead, Essex.

Attended Highgate Grammar School in London.

Death certificate registered in Braintree by son Leslie.

Jim sparkes relates meeting Ron in Cairo in 1949 and Ron was in sick bay
with ulcerated legs.

There is a story of Ron having a blackout and falling off his bike. Win
Sullivan went to the hospital with Betty and they saw someone being
brought in. They were struck by his very dirty feet..... it was Ron.

Coincidentally Betty and Ron, and Win (to be Ron's stepmother) and James
(Ron's father) got engaged the same day and bought rings from same
jewellers.

Fighting war in France when wife Ivy died. Came out of army in 1918 to
look after children who in the meantime had been looked after by Emily
who it is said did not feed them well despite being given adequate funds?
Winifred thinks she was about 12 years old at this time.
Winifred says 'Aunt Blanch' looked after Winifred / Frank / Alfred.
Moved to Shakespeare Road, Stoke Newington.
Then Alfred married a Mrs Dean whose first husband (Mr Dean) had died,
her maiden name is Harley. They moved to her house in 108 Palatine Road,
Stoke Newington.
Later moved to Laburnham Street, Shoreditch. Then to Beresford Road,
Highbury and from this address Alfred (the son) left to get married.
Then moved to Park Lane, Stoke Newington and finally to "Rosemary" 53
Longfield Avenue Enfield from where Francis left to get married.
Alfred died, leaving the house to Jessie and Winifred (Alfreds daughter
and Jessies step-daughter). In the meantime Winifred had married James
who moved to Longfield Ave from Oxford House. James died, then Jessie
died and Winifred sold the house to move to Clacton.

Marriage certificate to Jessie Ellenor Deane (Harley) shows Alfreds
address as 54 Shakespeare Road London N16

Birth certificate no B417605 entry no 4 registered in Islington (sub
Islington East) book no 257 on 28th Feb 1883. Copy certificate dated 6th
Jan 1923.

Copy of death certificate shows address at 53 Longfield Ave, Enfield.
Cert No. IW550720 entry no. 470 registered in Enfield on 30th May 1959 by
his son A. Mercer of 87 Winchester Road, Kenton.

Marriage certificate shows her as Jessie Ellenor Deane, a widow age 34,
when she married Alfred Mercer. Deane was the surname of her first
husband.
Her address is given as 108 Palatine Road, London N16
Death certificate gives her name as Jessie Eleanor Adela Mercer maiden
name Harley.
Lived at 53 Longfield Ave, Enfield with Win Sullivan, her step-daughter,
when she died.
Death registered in Enfield cert no. 382553 entry no 41.
Known to me as "Grandma Mercer".
Fond memories, lived on the ground floor with her budgie. When I visited
as a small boy she would give me an old threepenny piece wrapped in
tissue that she had saved for me as pocket money.

Died living at 53 Longfield Ave, Enfield. Had heart attack at home and
died in hospital.
Marriage cert. shows address as Oxford House, High St, Turnford.
Winifred lived at 53 Longfield Ave, Enfield and this is where they moved
to.

Birth certificate was registered in the sub-district of St Anne, Soho.
Main district was Westminster. Born at 22 Lisle Street. Birth
registered by mother. Lisle Street is between Leicester Sq and
Piccadilly Circus.

On death of James, probate given to Winifred gross value given as £1399

Oxford House:
James Sullivan rented Oxford House to get out of London. Living there
were his mother (name unknown at this time, known as Granny Sullivan),
his wife Irene, Ron and Vera. Betty mved in with Ron and Jim Sparks
moved in with Vera. Irene died while at Oxford House as I assume did
granny sullivan?.
Vera and Jim moved out to Puckeridge and Betty and Ron moved to 7, Jones
Road, Goffs Oak. This left the rented house rather empty and James (Jim)
who now had met Win moved in with her family in Longfield Ave.
