I forgot to add information that has only just come to hand from the 1881
census, which accounts for the missing wife..
William Goble Woollett's wife Clara Amelia was admitted to the Brookwood
Asylum at Woking, Surrey 17 Feb 1881. Listed as:- married, 42 years of age,
wife of a clerk. Thankfully she was discharged 7 Sep 1883. I imagine she
suffered from post-natal depression following the birth of her last child.
What a dreadful situation to be placed in, one wonders how her husband
handled the sad situation.
