The Woollett Family History Site

Thank you for visiting this site. I hope that you will get some useful information out of it. The presentation is plain, simple and functional to minimise the time it takes to download and view pages.
This started off as a conventional home page. I was interested in family history and wanted to make my research available to other people, to avoid duplication of effort. The response was very encouraging and as information came in it became apparent that a more formal "home" was needed.

This site is run by Woolletts for Woolletts

If you can supply more information or make suggestions on how to improve the site they will be gratefully received. If you would like to contribute articles or whole pieces of research then I am more than happy to credit you accordingly. Please remember, for me this is a spare time hobby and I only have a certain amount of time and money to spend on it.

Think of this as your site, it can only be as interesting as the material that you are able to provide to share with others.

I would like to include more extracts from Parish Records, when you are next searching through them, make an extra copy and send it to me so that the information can be shared as they are not always readily accessible.  With more and more information being transcribed to the Internet and on-line access to census documents etc. life is much easier for armchair researchers and those living abroad than it was a few years ago.

Latest.....14th September 2012....  The web pages do not get updated too often these days but work still goes on behind the scenes as time permits and the core database (off-line) is updated frequently.

Do remember that any information contained in these pages is presented in good faith and will quite likely contain errors. It is up to you to cross check any information gleaned from this web site and make sure that it is accurate. Good luck.

For those of you who do not know me, and bearing in mind the absence of international borders on the Internet, my name is Les Sullivan, I am English, in my mid fifties,  married with three children, now getting well past their teens, and live a few miles South of Cambridge in UK. My maternal grandmother was a Woollett.  This web site has been running since about 1997 and although looking rather tired still functions!.
